Our Client is a one of the largest and most well-known global consumer products companies in the world. This position is critical. The company (@ 8 billion per year in revenue) is based in Southern New York. Their R&D site is second to none; a $100MM brand new facility. It’s quite dynamic, fast-paced and very innovative. This person will be in a position to have a significant impact on the growth and direction of the Dermatology Biological Science Department and really advance quickly as the career track and growth potential is enormous.
Description:
Serve as technical leader in the bioinstrumentation clinical testing area. Build research collaborations with vendors and outside clinical labs. Lead in-house and external research projects to develop novel bioinstrumental claim-support methods. Provide bioinstrumentation expertise support to product development and innovation teams. Coordinate clinical testing requirements with product development groups to maximize claims opportunities by bioinstrumentation testing. Schedule and monitor external research studies (some travel required). Responsible for all aspects of study design including protocol development, adherence to GLP/GCPs, record keeping, statistical analysis, and development of product claims.
Requirements:
PhD in biological sciences and at least 3 years dermatological research or clinical testing experience. Previous experience in bioinstrumental measurements of skin is a must. Must have a demonstrated record of outstanding written and oral communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate understanding of statistics in clinical study design/interpretation of data, draw meaningful conclusions and recommend appropriate next steps. Must maintain a high degree of flexibility to accommodate fluctuating scheduling requirements in a fast paced environment. Good computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, etc.) and organizational skills are essential. Must be willing to commit to being a team player working in a highly matrixed environment.

Responsibilities:
Coordinate clinical testing requirements with product development groups to maximize claims opportunities. Schedule and supervise in-house clinical efficacy studies. Schedule and monitor external studies (some travel required). Responsible for all aspects of study design including protocol development, adherence to GLP/GCPs, fastidious record keeping, statistical analysis, and development of product claims. Prepare written reports summarizing results, and integrate with reports from consumer sciences and cell biology groups to generate comprehensive product efficacy dossiers and executive summaries.
Requires: Ph.D. in biological sciences and a minimum of 3-5 years dermatological research or clinical testing experience. Visual grading experience is a plus. Must have a demonstrated record of outstanding written and oral communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate understanding of statistics in clinical study design/interpretation of data, draw meaningful conclusions and recommend appropriate next steps. Must maintain a high degree of flexibility to accommodate fluctuating scheduling requirements in a fast paced environment.
